We are currently pausing new member additions while our existing member group moves through an important phase of the design process for our future community. Once these design workshops are complete, we will reopen membership and begin welcoming new Equity Members.
In the meantime, you are very welcome to connect with Coastside Cohousing as an Explorer. The Explorer step allows you to engage more deeply with the community, participate in conversations, and take time to decide whether cohousing is the right fit for your lifestyle. Explorers will have the opportunity to apply for Equity Membership once the design phase is complete.

Equity Members take an active role in shaping Coastside Cohousing by participating in planning, decision-making, and the development of the community.
We welcome prospective members who share our values and vision for community living. A strong fit includes alignment with cohousing principles, the ability to invest financially in the project, and a willingness to contribute time and energy to building Coastside Cohousing together.

For a one-time, non-refundable Explorer fee of $100 per household, you'll receive full access to the inner workings of Coastside Cohousing. Plus, Explorers who choose to join as equity members will have priority in reserving their future home.
Your fee helps support our startup efforts, including outreach, our website, and community events. While Explorers can attend meetings, only Equity Members make project decisions.

As an Equity Member, you’ll move from exploring to actively shaping our future community. This step gives you a voice in decision-making and a direct role in bringing Coastside Cohousing to life. Before committing financially, you’ll have time to review all agreements and ensure it’s the right fit for you. We encourage you to seek guidance as needed, so you feel confident and excited about taking this next step toward your future home!

Building our community involves both member financial contributions and securing bank financing for construction. Once the community is built households will be able to purchase their homes with traditional mortgages, just like buying into any townhome community.

In our community-led approach, future residents play an important role in guiding development decisions, supported by professionals. Cohousing often results in higher-quality, more sustainable homes compared to traditional developments. As Equity members, you'll not only help create your own home, but also contribute to building a vibrant community with shared spaces and lasting connections.
